Consistency Beats Occasional Inspiration

One of the most common misconceptions in tango is believing that the more famous teachers you take workshops with, the faster you’ll improve. While festivals, visiting maestros, and trips to Buenos Aires can be incredibly inspiring and broaden your perspective, they are supplements to your training, not the foundation of it.

Lasting progress comes from consistent practice with a teacher who understands your strengths, weaknesses, and development over time. A workshop may introduce a great idea, but only regular training can turn that idea into a natural part of your dance.

The dancers who improve the most aren’t the ones chasing every new technique, they’re the ones who build a strong foundation, then use workshops and festivals to enrich it. In tango, consistency will always outperform occasional inspiration.
